How long does it take for an institution to receive an update from FAFSA after corrections have been processed?
I submitted FAFSA and then made corrections a day later. The institution has received the first transaction but not the second (the corrections). I see the corrections have processed on FAFSA‘s site. Can I go to the financial aid office of my institution and will they be able to pull the latest transactions instantly? Or should I print out the corrections? I just don’t want the corrections to be overlooked and I want to get everything out of the way ASAP.

Just leave them alone. They never overlook anything and you are just causing them more of a distraction by calling/stopping in and forcing them to look up your file. They hae a lot on their plate at the moment, processing financial aid for the entire University, which I think that a lot of students fail to realize. So they will get it done when they get it done. You will not get your award letter until mid April anyway, so just calm down and be patient.

How does being married affect the amount of money one can acquire from FAFSA/Financial Aid?
My boyfriend and I are both very serious and are considering getting married. However we are both full-time students and don’t know how being married will affect the money we receive from FAFSA/Financial Aid.
We are currently dependents of our parents, live on campus and do not have any sort of income (We probably wont have an income once we’re married because we’ll still be full-time students).
Will getting married increase or decrease the amount of money we will receive from FAFSA/Financial Aid?

Once you marry you become independent of your parents and no longer have to include their income on your FAFSA. If you don’t make any money then you will get an EFC of 0 and will receive a good amount of aid.
However, not getting a job is an insanely stupid thing to do because you won’t get enough to fully cover your schooling and then you’ll be left having to take out loans.

What is the best date to file your FAFSA if you want to maximize the amount of Federal Assistance you’re given?
I received my W-2′s and immediately filed my FAFSA that morning. Considering that they’d been accepting FAFSA applications for the Fall semester since the 1st of January, was the 31st too late to maximize my potential federal assistance?
My taxes were done before my FAFSA.

There is only one critical date for financial aid eligibility, and that is the “priority aid deadline” at your school.
Schools do not process aid applications as they arrive – schools process aid applications beginning immediately after their own “priority aid deadline” has passed. If your school’s deadline is March 15th, they will begin processing aid on or about March 16th.
There is NO benefit to getting your aid application in first – when the school begins processing aid, they evaluate all of the applicants on the basis of financial need. Funds like Pell Grants and Stafford loans are not limited – the school can award those to everyone who qualifies. Other forms of aid are awarded from a limited pool of funds, but the school first determines how many of their applicants qualify for those forms of aid, and then allocates that aid to as many students as they possibly can.
The only aid applicants who risk getting shut out, or receiving reduced aid packages, are those students who do not meet their school’s priority aid deadline – otherwise, financial aid application is not a race.
I hope that doesn’t disappoint you.

FAFSA resullts, why did I recieve different amounts of financial aid at the schools I applied to?
I just got my FAFSA report back from both colleges I applied to. I got 2000 more dollars in loans at Oklahoma State University than I got at Texas A&M. Why are the amounts different if the tuition costs are roughly the same?

If you are talking about your “Award letters” from both schools then you must understand that your awards WILL be different from school to school. Usually the difference is in state aid (if you are a resident of Oklahoma you likely qualified for state aid there). Or sometimes the school will automatically offer you a Subsidized Stafford loan, while NOT offering you the UnSub Stafford loan. Texas A&M may make you go back and ASK for the UnSub loan. Each school has its own awarding “standards” and they are not uniform and VERY situational to YOU like how early you did your fafsa and how quickly you turned in all your paperwork to each school.
Also, if you are comparing schools from different states the “Cost of Attendance” may be significantly higher at one, causing the amount of parent PLUS loans to be a great deal more.
Without more knowledge of what you are being offered, it’s hard to tell, more info would be helpful. There are certain federal aid you get that will be uniform no matter what school you attend, but not all, esp state and school aid will be the same. ALWAYS look at the bottom line of how much the school is going to COST you in the end (loans and cash) rather than how large your aid package is.

How do I reduce my EFC legitimately for FAFSA and CSS PROFILE? Can I reduce my EFC by not reporting certain savings and investiment assets that aren’t verifiable? If not, what other legitimate ways to fill out FAFSA and CSS PROFILE such that I get the lowest EFC?
Will shifting student’s savings and assets to parent’s savings and assets help reduce EFC?

You have to and must put down everything into the FAFSA and the amount for everything must be the truth and exactly the right amount. If the government, IRS .. Those people that find out that you cheated, it would be a big trouble.
The only way for the EFC to go down – it would be one of your parents quit their job and not working. Even if your parents are divorce, I think you would have to still report the other parent.

What is Reiki? In its simplest form, reiki is universal life force energy that is given to a client through a reiki practitioner. But, other than that – what is reiki? I take it the numbers given have to be the zeroes of the polynomial.
If -2 and 3 have to be zeroes, you’ll need factors (x-(-2)) and (x-3) for your polynomial. The smallest degree is achieved by making these the only factors. It will have integral coefficients as long as (1) all of the zeroes occur in complex conjugate pairs and (2) we choose the leading coefficient to make all coefficients integers.
For the first, choose
p(x) = a(x+2)(x-3) = a(x^2-x-6)
We can set a to any nonzero number. Since the coefficients inside the parentheses are already integers, let’s pick a = 1. So the polynomial is
p(x) = x^2 – x -6.
For the second, we note that the only complex roots do appear in a conjugate pair +2i and -2i. So take the factors to be (x-(-3)), (x-2i) and (x-(-2i)). Again let these be the only factors to make the degree minimal.
P(x) = a(x+3)(x-2i)(x+2i) = a(x^3+3x^2+4x+12)
All the coefficients in the parentheses are integers, so again a=1 will work.
P(x) =x^3+3x^2+4x+12

Does the shake weight work for you? (females)?
I trying to get more upper body strength. I do lift dumb bells and I bench press some times but I’m still not satisfied I think i should be a lot stronger. And bench pressing gets me insanely sore. But lifting dumb bells no matter what Weight or how long i lift, I never get sore at all. no pain no gain. So i’m seriously thinking about the shake weight. But first i want to make sure it works good. And is it very hard or easy? does it get you very sore? Thanks!

It works. These people probably never used it. I’ve been using it for about 2 weeks and I’m noticing a change. My arms are more muscular and not as flabby. As long as you follow the routine, it’ll work. It comes with a DVD that shows you the routine.

I can install it, and I’ve run patch gfup101.exe. But after the intial cinematic, the game stopped. I’ve also tried using CPUkiller to slow down my computer and copying all the files to my HD to no avail.

You should have been given a page at the end of your purchase to print out you movie ticket at home (make sure it has the bar code on it), you should also have been given an email that has a link to print it out at home.

Does Acid Reflux Need More Than Alternative Medicine?

Acid reflux disease affects more than 15 million people just in the United States alone. Anyone who took a stroll down a pharmacy aisle where antacids are displayed would probably guess that twice that number was burdened with this uncomfortable and persistent malady. The sheer number of different remedies for heartburn and acid indigestion is amazing. People are popping these over the counter drugs down like candy in an effort to relive themselves of uncomfortable symptoms, totally unaware that acid reflux responds more quickly to alternative medicine remedies. • Causing “acid rebound” – more stomach acid forms once a dose of antacid has worn off.

Acid reflux sufferers need more options, and alternative medicine has several that will give them better and faster relief than anything OTC or allopathic. Believe it or not, one of the best natural remedies for acid reflux disease is garlic. Most people would think the opposite, but garlic effectively kills bacteria in the stomach that can be responsible for inflammation of this organ. Another natural remedy that gives relief by changing the pH balance of the stomach is an herb called Artemisia asiatica, or wormwood. The only word I could think of while watching it was… “bloody”. Really really bloody. It’s actually not that bad. I mean, it’s a LOT more than you would expect (in gruesome speaking) but I thought it might have needed to be done, since that’s what the whole movie is about. I’d rate it… 4-5/10, but because of how graphic it is in sound and sight. It’s nothing to throw up or have a seizure or cry over though… Like those people did. I’m 16 and a girl and I made through it. Although, you would think it would be a total of… 30 seconds? Yeah, totally not. It’s like 5 minutes. The background has music, so at points the sounds are not bad. He snaps his bone is it’s like, literally, SNAP. And then the vein is just like a whistling sound, kind of like a high pitched scream, which I thought it was. The moments after is a TOTAL WTF moment. I mean… After watching him for 5 days stuck there, all of a sudden he’s walking backwards and you’re like “WTF!!!! He…. Has….. NO…. ARM… ITS NOT THERE. WTF?!” it’s like a reality hit.
It’s overall a VERY VERY VERY excellent movie. James NEEDS to win an Oscar! PLEASE GO SEE IT!!!! (:

It’s not “disgusting” at all. This isn’t Saw or Hostel. Yes, it’s very grisly, but the scene itself is inspirational. It’s a man choosing to endure extreme pain in order to escape and live. The positive meaning tempers the bloodiness.
The use of sound and music boosts the intensity of the scene. The sound when he tries to cut through the nerves…I won’t be forgetting it soon.

Since you didn’t say when you ordered the item, it’s hard to say whether it’ll be deliverd on saturday or not. UPS has a premium for Weekend delivery. Unless the company paid the premium and overnight, check to see what did UPS say the estimated delivery date.
